Are you looking for real life examples that would inspire you to be better?

Nación Libro joins the more than deserved tribute that the author pays to women, in this the third volume of the series that fortunately came into our hands. With a jovial language, the protagonists address the reader and narrate their perhaps not sufficiently considered merits throughout history.

More than an obstacle, “this is not a job for women” has been a catalytic phrase that has prompted hundreds of talented female artists, writers, athletes, activists, and many other women to fight for their right to transcend.

For example, the lives of historical figures such as Antonia Alva, Petra Herrera, Herminia Alvarez, among others, are narrated. We also know the motivations that prompted various athletes to reach the podium of world recognition, such is the case of Enriqueta Basilio, the first woman to light the flame of an Olympic Games, those of Mexico in 1968. We learn about the admirable career of Paola Longoria, the most successful racquetball player in the history of this sport.

In the artistic field, the famous ranchera music singer, Amalia Mendoza describes how her passion for singing led her to be recognized in many international spaces, not only in the music industry, but also in the film industry. We also learn about the life of Yolanda Vargas Dulche, “the queen of romance illustrated novels”, one of the most widely read fiction writers of all time.

Did you know, for example, that behind the wonderful digital art of famous Walt Disney movies, or others such as Hotel Transylvania 4, or Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse, is the talented hand in animation by the Mexican Leticia Maycotte Díaz?

Finally, this book includes the biographies of prominent Mexican women who, in the fields of medicine, gastronomy, feminism, politics, and many other activities, have left a great mark on society.

Although it is a book geared towards young readers, we must all join in this well deserved praise to women, by the Mexican-American writer Pedro J. Fernandez.
